Changing oil every 3k miles. Are people wasting money?

I thought it was odd that Toyota says to change the engine oil every 2500 miles on the air filter housing...but when I took my car to the dealer to have the oil changed, the sticker they put in the windshield says to bring it back in 6000 miles? Maybe oils in the 80's didn't last as long as...

Looking for a new DD- Lexus IS300, or BMW 3-Series?

Seems like every car manufacturer is doing that these days... Even Mercedes, who used to follow the "cost is no object" line of thinking, and used to make cars that would last forever...are cheapening it up a bit...I'm not saying the cars they make now are bad, I'm just saying that they...

Looking for a new DD- Lexus IS300, or BMW 3-Series?

Well, if you don't care about sportiness because you have the Supra...then you shouldn't really be looking at the BMW's, because they are quite sporty...in fact, I wouldn't like to have one as a daily driver, the suspension is just too stiff. In my mom's 2004 325ci (sport package) the ride is...

OEM door support/brace on targa cars - is it necessary??

I took mine off, and the rattle was TERRIBLE. Ok, where's my $10? :biglaugh: I always thought that they were supposed to help keep the door from crushing inward in the event of a side-impact? I noticed my mom's BMW has these same hooks...

Must have pics. I don't think Pearl White was an option on 91-92's.

    FAILED Cali Smog test...

I've replaced the o2 sensor with a Bosch replacement 3 times. But I would keep getting a code 21, and CEL occasionally. So this time I went back to the OEM o2 sensor that the car passed with originally. I did the o2 sensor inspection outlined in the TSRM, and I get a constant 3.5V between Vf...
