Funny how this is what Supra owners usually do...then they end up regretting it a year later...always makes me LOL.

When oil is missing from the engine (it can't get "stuck" anywhere) and there aren't any obvious oil leaks, that usually means that it is being burned in the combustion chamber...which could be caused by bad valve stem seals (common 1J problem), or bad piston rings...among other things... As...

I think that means it is a 7M-GE (non-turbo) EGR valve.

Acoustic foam would be ideal, but kinda expensive... Try looking at thrift stores for those roll up egg carton foam mattress pad thingys. Other than that...there isn't really much you can do besides just putting blankets all over the walls lol.

That stuff sound pretty gimmicky to me.

The wax you are applying really should protect the paint, and prevent "etching" from happening... I would try a better quality wax..."Nufinish" isn't gonna cut it. Meguiar's tech wax would be a good choice, and Zaino would be even better.
