hmm, well I think our setups will be fairly similar, as far as potential. My kit is good for about 600-650hp as well(not that I plan to hit that soon). I'll be using a single MKIV pump and 540s for a while. What is full boost like with that turbo on your 2j? My base wastegate setting...

There should be rubber grommets there already. It still clicks audibly. Although maybe his doesn't have grommets there which might explain the difference in volume between our 2 experiences. The solenoid was never audible in my car unless windows were up and radio was off.

I've been looking at the MAP ECU for future tuning as well.

Well make sure to keep your definitions of lag, spool, and powerband straight. I didn't know what "Faster boost" meant in your post. It's not as simple as saying faster boost. That's too vague. These two posts should help you out. And HTH
