Ever since i've owned this car its had this. Whenever the boost goes above 1psi a fast paced, rather loud, clicking noise occurs in the general area of the ECU. Its really really getting annoying at this point. Any ideas what it could be and how i can make it stop?

BTW: the noise can be compared to that of a hard drive on a computer, just much louder and not quite as fast paced (depending on the HD of course).

Close. :) But not quite. It's not actually coming from the ECU area.

It's your profec B spec II solenoid. The duty noise comes through the firewall.

Actually, it kinda helps to hear it. So you know it's working. Especially when tuning the start boost(wastegate) setting. When you make adjustments, you can actually hear the wastegate opening later if you eye your boost gauge and keep your ears open.

Profec B spec II was the first thing I looked for in your sig when I read your question. I was going to ask if you had one if I didn't see it in there. I've had two previously.

Its kind of annoying, it actually is louder than my radio sometimes...any good way to muffle the sound a bit?

you can see where its at in this pic:

To be honest, unless my windows were rolled up or my radio was on at any audible volume, I couldn't hear it. Mine was in the same place.

I don't know any way to suppress the noise.

put rubber between the solinoid and hte body

There should be rubber grommets there already. It still clicks audibly.

Although maybe his doesn't have grommets there which might explain the difference in volume between our 2 experiences. The solenoid was never audible in my car unless windows were up and radio was off.

Yep, definantly your boost controller solenoid, i have the same thing happening, but it doesn't seem to be that loud, but definantly loud enough to hear without the radio on or windows down
