ummm, the majority of experienced riders only use the clutch when starting from a stop, or downshifting. 1-2 shifts take some time to learn, but 2-6 is easy. you would add a full second if not more to your 1/4 times by using a clutch for more than the launch.

yeah not many people have yamaha's around here, they're all suzuki fanboi's. i've never bought a suzuki for that reason, kawi's are better than suzukis, it's just they don't have the cult following. last year i put a 520 conversion +8 rear on an 02 zx6r with a few mods like euro cdi, chopped...
i've been 140 on an 04 R1 completely stock, you slip a zx14 off the line with someone that has balls and you'll trap 140+ with ease. a really good rider would be looking at 150
bit the bullet today and got an RCI fuel cell. this will help remove some extra weight and it's going to be safer if the car flips or something at the track
i will agree with this. no offense to the OP, but 90% of riders cannot push a 600cc bike to its limits. after years of riding, i am finally getting to that point where it's time to move up, but may wait another year or two.
liter bikes and above (the newer ones) are just like a laser...
thanks for your concern, but why i was asking is because the machinist has my motor apart at the moment while i wait for the bearings to get in, and i was going to order the new springs and get them installed before he assembled it IF they needed to be installed before the bottom end was...
the engine is at the machinist and i can't check, but do the piston oil squiters need to be installed before the crank/rods? i can't remember what order i disassembled it in, or if they were accesible with the crank installed.
i think it's the fact that they're not DOT approved, even though a good fuel cell installed properly could be safer than an oem fuel tank, especially a bladder cell.
ok thanks, i was up in limbo on sumping the oem tank, but i think it will be best in the long run to just drop a fuel cell in and would like to see some examples
anyone got pics of fuel cell installs? cusrious to if anyone cut through the floor in the rear and maybe stretched the bottom of the spare tire well further across and mounted the cell lower, or if they just mounted it in the back
i can't count the number of mustangs at the drag strip on any given day with my hands, your hands, and a dozen other people's hands. i can however, count how many mk3's are there by using no hands.
it's not about simply going fast, if that were the case i would jump on my bike and turn 9's...
