i'll take a loss of less than 2hp caused by drag of the altenator over the resistance of an extra pulley and a 5+ pound device that creates exponetial resistance depending on speed.
if anyone feels froggy here's the formula for calculating out hp drag from the altenator:
:biglaugh:
you can use zoop, it'a about th eonly thing that will keep something from oxidizing, that gets hot.
on all the parts that don't get hot i use flitz, on hot parts zoop or clear coat, and not the aerosol canned clear, good stuff. zoop is expensive, that's why i only use it on hot parts...
+1 aircraft stripper removes all
here's a pic of it removing the paint from a motorcycle i'm rebuilding (this was about 15 minutes after the aircraft stripper was put on)
as for the polishing, i don't use anything over a 400 grit anymore... IF i use any sandpaper at all
here's...
we don't have to question it, you displayed your level of knowledge perfectly by running a turbo you knew was bad, for 5000 miles, then blaming the company for selling you a broken item 6 months down the line
sorry, my car went on hold, i took the $3k left for the supra and bought a new motorcycle to rebuild and sell so i could have $5k by may lol... it'll be june probably before mine is running
stay away from these. i have a set of 225/45/18's on my supercharged cobalt and they don't get traction for shit, i've had them on for 20k ish miles and they are about ready to be replaced. that's without purposely doing any burnouts.
my car will break the tires loose at 40mph from just...
if my main studs would ever get here, i would have the machinist measure mine for everyone. hopefully they will be in this week and if so, i'll post the numbers. i've got probes though, don't know how they differ from oem
just as a said, if you have any reservations about doing something like that, go see a mechanic. i don't know if a 4 gauge would be big enough, i would use 0 gauge personally. probably something like this...
install battery in rear
install kill switch (preferably mount it on the outside of the car, by the license plate like most mustangs have)
run the same gauge ground as you do hot (don't put a bigger cable in one or the other positions, use the EXACT same size wire)
viola </how to>
(as...
well, as of today the supra build has come to a screetching halt. i'm getting another bike to rebuild next week and all my funds will be going into paying it off over the next few weeks. plan on polishing the entire bike, so it'll be all nice and sparkly.
[presses pause button]
it's not too hard, as long as you give them a really good coating of protectant. cleaning times vary by how dirty they get from the rain, dust etc... my motorcycle can go anywhere from a week to a month, depending on if i ride it in the rain or not, before it needs to be cleaned
