    O-Ringing 7 MGTE Block

Heh, I love poking at your posts, and the responses they generate. The problem is while you understand what is going on, the post you made could be (and probably is) interpreted by most in the same manner I did...so I replied accordingly. If you are referring to the melting point by this...

is it just me or do the stock pre 89 brakes SUCK ass

when re-installing brakes, make sure you do several things... clean the rotors with alcohol after installing....skin oils can contaminate the rotor surface and lead to hot spots later on. Torque the wheels evenly, in the proper sequence, with a torque wrench. When bedding in the pads, do not...

    O-Ringing 7 MGTE Block

and aluminum melts at 1220.58F...just a tad lower than copper... Figgie, by your logic, the head should be melting away as time goes on...which it obviously doesn't. If you are heating the copper to the point where it melts, you have some serious cooling system problems.

My restoration project - Rusty 89

Got some work done tonight...finally put together my fuse box. Note the left side of the fuse box, which was previously empty...It now houses the fuses for my HID lights, audio amplifier, and fuel pump wiring. humm i wonder 93+ rear brake's

To "install" them, sure, but I would rather not be removing material from a cast component to get the brakes to work...a centred rotor is nice to have as well. If i recall correctly, the mk3 rears are ventilated, are they not?

    tanabe exhaust. need help

yeah, thats close to mine...I picked up some smaller exhaust donuts so mine sits a tad higher. I've seen a few cars with a pretty large gap between the muffler and bumper and it looks terrible.

    bushings

$160 poly bushings is a very recent development....prior to that, it was in the neighborhood of $700. I'd use poly for all bushings rotating normal to the longitudinal axis of the car, and stock for the others. As for my car, I replaced everything with stock bushings (prior to the release of...
