I was trying to figure out how to install my brand-spanking new oem wiring harness without modifying it to fit my 550cc injectors, and I figured out a pretty straightforward way to do it, and I figured some other guys would like a way to install 550's without having to hack up their harnesses...
Here are some adapter harnesses for my injectors. While the white connectors don't directly clip into the harness, all I had to do was de-pin the stock connectors and clip on the appropriate mating connectors. (note, I've still gotta order a few more plug assemblies...)
how did you run a boost leak test?
Even if your gauge stays constant, you can still be losing pressure through a hole in one of the rubber elbows. Same thing happened to my car; it was the elbow directly off the compressor discharge.
it is best to maintain the year of the car for both. I know for a fact that you can get the wiring harness brand new from champion toyota for a hair over $400 (unless your car is california-spec). You should be able to find the appropriate ECU in the for sale section.
Your best bet would be...
It really wouldn't be that tough to make your own harness actually. I sourced most of the pins used on our harness, as well as the proper crimp tool for reasonably cheap. All you would need is a lot of wire, connector bodies scavenged from other harnesses/junk yard, and some patience.
are you one of the unfortunate ones falling into the "discontinued" category?
apparently there are still another 6 of mine left kicking around in US warehouses.
got the harness through champion toyota...$400 and change.
I'm hoping I'll get some work done this weekend as it is supposedly going to surpass the 0C mark...
a few things just rolled in this week so I thought I'd share. Apparently it is supposed to warm up soon here, so there should be some actual progress on the car soon. until then, enjoy.
