I just found out that a 95 Avalon has some common parts with a 1J. I know for sure the ignitors are the same, and the coil connectors, and ECU connectors are the same (as a soarer ECU). I believe there are other connectors are the same, just havent been able to verify yet.
Just a small note...
So your suggesting he drained the old fuel, and didnt put any fresh gas back in? I doubt it.
OP, does the car run if you spray some carb cleaner in the intake? Have you checked if its getting spark?
Sure, look at the bottom of this page its all there.

Also bookmark this page, so you dont have to ask for part numbers.

Now that you have the part numbers, a simple phone call will will...
Not usually, unless its stuck closed. But if that were the case, then it would start with a little throttle open.
Have you tried pulling codes?

Look down at the rack on the intake side of the engine bay. Is there a 2 wire solenoid on the rack?
I have never heard it called hydraulic reaction, we call it PPS (progressive power steering)
No, thats not what i mean by bypass. I was talking about the "12v mod"
If the relay and resistor are still there, it should run, but you might want to do the "12v mod" in the future.
Back to the b1 plug.
The b1 plug has wires that come from the engine harness, and plug into the body harness...
Lol Moy, I was talking about something cheap and easy to fix, and def not something some kid has been beating on for the last 15 years. Like an na subi, corolla, or any honda. Your just a glutton for punishment buying a DSM.
Retire it from dd use. They are much less frustrating when you don't NEED the car to get around. I find that I am able to take more time with her, and less likely to cut corners. Is keeping the sup, and picking up a clunker out of the question?
