You could take off both manifolds and look at the valve stems. If they're leaking there will be some evidence. I'd rather just take the cams out and replace them though.
Someone else is going to have to do some 7m testing (7m free zone). I think even with the stud, this setup is more compact. I dont know for sure it will fit on a 7m though. Feel like doing some testing? send me your address, ill ship out some used sensors, you can pick up the studs at toyota...
I assume your talking key on, engine off? So around 100 kpa , readings should be around 1.5 -1.7v. But that reading will go down as you go higher in altitude. A reading of .7 would be normal at 6000-7000 feet above seal level.

It pisses me of when i have to work on a car that has stickey crap all over the terminals. If the battery is not leaking, there is no need to gob them up.
Do yourself a favor and buy a gel battery, and new terminals. Be done with it.
I am a little reluctant to share to much of my setup at this point because it is totally untested at this time. I will say that all the mods inside the box are per the manual.
