Cars with flip-up lights don't have these from the factory because if there was something (such as ice) holding them down it could damage the housing or motors.
I'm mobile again, have been for a few weeks. I need to get an alignment done, along with a rear-end fluid change and make sure my transmission fluid is full and I'll be ready to rock.
That's a big leak, are you leaving drops anywhere on the concrete after parking? Or is it all being burned? Fix it now, or it'll cost a lot more to fix later.
I love the look of the Supra, but rather than fight to change everything I'd rather start with a platform that is more in line with my goals. More power to ya!
So much work in getting weight out of a Supra, making it something it was never meant to be...
My recommendation is to find a lightweight chassis and throw a Supra engine in it if that's what you want. The Supra was built to be a comfortable highway cruiser, and that's what it excels at IMO.
I'm fairly certain that the stall is the point where a torque converter can no longer absorb the power from the motor and starts transferring the power through the transmission. A higher stall will help you launch at a higher RPM at the track but can make driving on the street a pain. I'm sure...
Somethings got to be dissipating that energy, and a lot of it is converted into heat which is rough on an automatic transmission. At a bare minimum you should get an extra tranny cooler.
There's definitely a large gap between rare and sought-after. Sadly, I don't think any MK3's will be the later. Buying a MK3 with with intentions of it appreciating is pretty funny, though. Unless you grab one with extremely low miles and hardy ever drive it, it's probably going to take many...
Hold the brake and rev the engine, then launch. It's extremely hard on your drivetrain and probably not good on your brakes.
I'm sure it contributed to the demise of both of my automatics.
Hell, I bought my nearly "rarest of the rare" (automatic transmission from the factory) with 83K miles for $5500 4.5 years ago. A paintjob and 5-speed swap later, I wouldn't part with it for less than $10K. I can't even see myself selling it to be honest, but then again I can't see anyone...
