Did it today, actually.
Cranked it in gear, that is. Glad I always remember to set the parking brake! I'll get it wired in properly when I get back from vacation.
Yup, black wire to white wire.
I hope this helps at least one person out. Life without cruise sucks! At least, for those of us who actually drive their cars :)
I'm sorry, what's the NSW? Neutral safety switch?
This is the Supraforums thread which is what I followed to get the car to think it was in park and get back-up lights.

Right, but I wasn't sure what the reason was that cruise wouldn't engage. I took a shot in the dark and it worked. I was especially nervous since my plugs were completely different than was was listed on the TEWD on CygnusX1's site. I had a couple more wires and the plug itself had 18 pins...
I figured it out! Go to the cruise control box and cut the black/white striped wire. Wire each half to a terminal on the switch at the top of the clutch pedal. Voila, you now have cruise control that cuts out when you press the clutch pedal.
My stock auto lasted 96K miles before dying. I got a free N/A auto from Carl (thanks!) here on the forums, which supposedly only had 64K miles on it. I killed it in about 3K miles.
I dyno'ed 275 rwhp on the first auto, although it was less than a week later that it died and may be making more...
That would be nice! I've got an auto one lying here, but would love to get pics of a manual one to compare.
I can't say. Mine's never had an issue with the original transmission or the replacement automatic. I swapped an R154 in that doesn't have the speed senor (must have been a non-ABS...
Should I have mentioned that I'm 5-speed now, but still running the automatic electronics? It'd be great to make a guide for those who've swapped and want cruise and ABS back.
I removed the broken bolt in the flywheel I bought used (poor seller, didn't even warn me about it) using a fluted extractor. Drill a hole through the bolt, then use a crescent wrench to implant the bolt extractor. You may need to drill a progressively bigger hole until you get it to go inside...
Alright. I get the cruise control light on the dash when I turn it on, but pressing the set button does nothing. If you get a chance to look it up I would appreciate it greatly. I've got a road trip in 1 week and would like to get cruise functioning again. ABS can wait.
Good point on the TWED.
So, basically, what do I need to do to get cruise control back? It looks like I need to send either power or ground to the cruise control computer on wire 6. That's the only thing I see that might be missing.
edit: also, will using that speed sensor get me back my ABS...
Why not? They both get a signal from that sensor, don't they? It's listed on both pages:
