Worst advice for a Supra owner :)
I don't mind paying a little more to enjoy my Supra. I have my Camry for daily driving/long hauls. It gets 27 in city and 31 on the highway, and that's just fine with me.
The rational is because aftermarket HIDs are illegal to retrofit to cars that did not come with them for the factory. They blind the crap out of people because they are very difficult to do correctly, but selfish people insist on doing it anyways.
I never said that HIDs were inherently bad...
Good information, thank you. I wonder if I did the math backwards. I divided 273 by 243, but maybe I should have done it the other way around. That's still like 10.xxx difference, though.
Maybe my speedometer was already off slightly? And all these factors combined means I need to get this...
It's not worth it when it'll cost twice the price of the ticket in gas to drive up to fight it, plus the lost time at work.
Just did some math, I stopped at exit 93 in North Carolina to gas up and stopped again in Ohio at exit 6. My odometer indicated 243.4 miles, while I actually travelled...
I converted to a 5-speed a couple months ago and thought my drop in gas mileage was due to the different gearing and the fact that I've been enjoying rowing through the gears.
Last night I left Charlotte to head to Ohio for vacation. In Charleston, WV I got pulled over and was very confused...
Hard to say. What exactly is it doing? If you're losing power on the high end I'd recommend replacing your plugs with Autolite coppers. They were $8 for 6 the last time I bought them and cleared up my high-end miss.

I think you are correct. Cars that don't reach operating temperature generally aren't as efficient as they should be. That's why you have a thermostat to help your car reach operating temperature more quickly.
Read up on fluid dynamics. Toyota did a lot of expensive research to make sure that air going into the front of the car is directed through the radiator, but when you change things around (remove stock fan or shroud, change the front bumper, remove the engine undercover) you negate that...
