originally yes, but then i threw on a flywheel and manual trans, and called it a day. and no, i did not re-use those shims between the flexplate and crank
if it wasn't machined perfectly flat, i would have vibration/chattering when i was engaging the clutch, but i don't. everything is perfect up until it blows.
and IJ, how can i check for this center line being off? if all the bolts are all tightened, if the tranny mount is on and everything...
well, broke the stock pressure plate today which proves it wasn't the clutch shop messing up. my friend gave spec and rps a call and they said whenever crazy shit like this happens, it's almost always the flywheel. but i know i had the flywheel machined, so i dunno, maybe the crank. i guess i'll...
because i'm not convinced it is the clutch, and i don't want to buy a $1500 clutch and have it break after 1 day, not to mention the idea of pulling the tranny one more time makes me want to sell my fucking car.
