ive been told it doesnt matter.. but ive always placed it to whats closest. the back of the head connects to the firewall and the lower section running under the exhaust manifold connects to the other
normal temps on both the mkiii and sc300 on the 2jz swaps

valve stem seals smoke when cold and go away (unless they are That bad...)
bad piston rings will do that (thus the compression check)
as for headgasket i doubt but it never hurts to use the test from napa or wherever to determine if...

i know its frustrating getting something its not perfect and waiting to get it fixed but dont worry it will get fixed in the end...
you cant use a m series fan on a jz clutch or a m series clutch/pulley on a jz waterpump the bolt patterns are different . the clutch is also a little smaller than the jz one i would have used it to save money if it were possible (of course without drilling but i never like to rig it like that)...
he wants a gte? or just to turbo his GE? if you want a GTE you cant simply swap parts you might as well get the GTE engine. the intake manifold and the turbos will NOT bolt up.
they dont stick out more, the fan clutch is the same part # turbo or not only the fan is different (i did not check the 2jz part #'s from a n/a gs300 just supras and sc300's). i used the turbo fan and same part# fan clutch for every 2jz on a 93+ aristo engine and a pre 93' aristo engine and they...
fan clutch doesnt matter its the fan - you need a turbo fan not a non turbo fan. the waterneck sticks out more than a non turbo 2jz because they route to the front and go to the other side of the engine.
i didnt remove the brace i just unbolted it and moved it slightly heh. and my oil stick...
i always put a crowbar in the inspection cover on the driveplate teeth, two people of course. i dont put it through the driveplate holes as it tended to bend the driveplate out of shape :)
