Spartan living, or, "How to budget for a Supra project"

It's interesting to see different situations ir different countries(especially talking about money). Also, different aproaches to problems. But yeah, you're right. You have to loose some, to gain some :)

    Enjoyer's MK3 swap and complete rebuild(nothing fancy)

So i blew the HG this spring. That was expected. At first i decided to replace the HG and thats all. But it's been a while that i was thinking to do a complete 7m overhaul and to remove some of the flaws. I didn't want to park my car for a long time, because it's my DD car. I came across a rhd...

What are your favorite things about MKIII Supras?

    1. The svelte look. Agree. Those body lines and fenders. I was sold in a heartbeat. 2. The feel. The feeling behind the wheel can't be compared to anything other. Every car has it's own aura, some kind of essence. Even if you are blindfolded and put in to another supra, you somehow feel that...

I've searched Cometic site more than once and i can't find what i'm looking for. They give only kits without any info on HG thickness.

    Head Gasket thickness selection

So, i actualy calculated corectly. Just wanted another opinion from the supra god, i mean IJ. So, i milled everything to fit a 3mm HG. OK,now the next question. I've red a lot of different discusions about HG manufacturers and still i'm not sure witch manufacturer is a better choise. I've got an...

    Head Gasket thickness selection

Ok, lets say i'm a dummy. I tried using this calculator , but somethings off http://charles.generationz.net/Supra/headgasketsize.html. If the stock HG is 1,37mm, we took 1,00mm from the block and 0,4mm from the head. Where does this leave me?

    Hot weather driving

I drove right through all last summer(+30) with a starting BHG without any real problems. P.s. It blew completely and overheated in winter, at -20 :D

    Another widebody MKIII

Don't get me wrong. I do apreciate the work thats gone into this thing. Without the top it even looks pretty good. But with the top.... Just odd. Also, to begin with, the targa is flimsy on its own. I can't imagine how bad it would be to drive in it's current state. P.s. maybe the chasis...

    Exhaust manifold question

On my old engine, i replaced the exhaust manifold gasket about a year ago and it was fine. No blow what so ever. Even now, when i took of that manifold, the gasket was fine. That's what's weird. How can the manifold fit on one engine and be useles on the identical other one?

    Exhaust manifold question

O.k. I blew the HG. I had another motor sitting for similar occasion. After the swap i heard a blow throug the exhaust manifold. Ok, i took it off, the gasket was shot. Also, i compared the manifold from my old engine with the one on the new(used, but lets call it new) engine. My old one was in...

    R154 refill

Hand pump from underneath or filling through the shifter hole. It's easy to decide what is easyer(if you have removed the shifter already).

    R154 refill

Ok, thanks guys. I'm in the middle of replacing the engine. The car is on the jack stands right now. It's much easyer to fill through shifter hole rather then crawl underneath with a pump.

    R154 refill

I did a search. Nothing came up. Or maybe i was searching wrong. O.k. I know that the oil refill hole for the r154 is just above the oil drain hole. One of my friends says, that you can refill r154 through the shifter hole. I doubt it. Or is it possible?
