i think i may have found the problem.....it apears the gauge is put together properly, but that the needle has been moved
if i hold the white peice on the back still and move the needle i can adjust 'zero'
this may 'solve' my problem, but makes me want a new OP gauge as this seams very...
i had the catch can in the car before the motor was rebuilt....i left it in cus the charcoal beast is long gone
i've never heard of anyone with oil seeping out of there fill cap or anywhere else this can't be normal right??
john
have that done right... everything worked right for a time
but what would cause me to weep oil from my fill cap, breathers to can, and from the can fittings
it would apear i am getting afair amount[more than i'd like] of oil in the IC lines due to this 'extra pressure'
my exact setup it...
i observed my NA cluster and saw there was an extra 'box' on the turbo and realized it is sending the boost signal to the contacts on the cluster...i removed the 'box' entirely and hooked the voltmeter up the same way it is on the NA cluster......i expect it to work now
thanks,
john
well i have a lo tek triple pillar pod and an A`PEXi EL series one mech boost gauge
i have a OP gauge from my 89 parts car i am gonna pop in and see whats up
john
question i know this was forever ago and i read a similair post a looooong time ago might have even been when i was stupid enough to hangout on SF, but i digress....
i did this thismorning.....result....my volt meter is a boost gauge measureing Volts.... as i push the gas the volt...
i took my dash apart to clean and change the coloure of the bulbs and replace my boost gauge with my voltmeter
anyway i put it all back together[mostly] to drive to work and about 100ft down the road i notice i'm reading 120LBS oil press. so i quick pull over and shut down.....get out check...
i have for a little while had a problem with oil 'weeping' from my oil fill cap and the hoses on my cathc can and the crankcase vent lines that run to my CC...
why is this and i smoke when i get on it
is this all blow by caused by a bad PCV valve??
i don't want to get so much pressure...
no question the more boost on anything shortens it's life.....but shimming not the only way....buying a 400 dollar EBC will raise boost and will do the same thing[i.e. shorten turbo lifespan]
john
i have removed/installed the head so i am firmiliar with these hoses
this will have no effect on the eniges behavior?? as i may do this as a temp fix untill i figure out if it's the heater core or a hose[if its a hose id rather replace it and get my heat back ;) ]
john
when i rev the car high or get into some high revs while driving i get 'fog' or 'steam' on the windshield like out of the defroster vents....
what could this be a small coolant leak?? i also smell burnt coolant occasinally but i never overheat or come close
any help??
john
