"Ok but when do these sleeve bearing turbos start making positive pressure? To me, a responsive turbo setup is far more important than the ability to make 500rwhp.. I want absolutely minimal lag. MRSUPRA, 10,000 miles out of a turbo isnt really impressive, with a healthy oil and coolant suply...
I had one of the earlier SP61GT's. It only cost $1150 with oil lines. I was very happy with its ability to make excellent power (451rwhp at 21psi) and good spool-up. Mine held up for the full 10k miles that I had it. Had very little shaft play when I sold it.
I know have a slightly larger...
My build cost me about $5200... The built shortblock with almost everything replaced was $2900, and the built head with oversize valves was $1900. Plus the 264 cams added $525.
"mr supra..are you for real you have a internal stock supra? its all about the tuning eh?i know its off topic..but a list of mods of your car on PM i am curious..thanks"
Just a metal headgasket and ARP head bolts. I'm not even impressed with my setup..The 511rwhp is going to be surpassed...
My Apexi exhaust had a built in resonator and it still droned like crazy on the hyway. Sounded great when you got on it, but the small muffler was no dought the culprit for the drone.
Nice job... For comparison, I could only get about 390rwhp at 18psi with my SP61GT(using a CAT). I later did 451rwhp at 21psi. I have similar mods as you, so that goes to show that you have a healthy motor unlike mine.
I do miss how well my SP61GT spooled compared to my SP59 with a tubular...
Here is the portion of the chart I waqs refering to. this is from nolimitmotorsports.com:

A "regular" 61mm turbo with a P-trim turbine wheel is not going to spool as fast as a GT35. If you go with the PT-61, get the smaller turbine wheel for faster spool; I guess they would classify them as O-trim wheels, although there web site says "To4".
My BC 264's just shipped out yesturday according to HPF. As soon as I get my cams in, head on the block, and new engine installed, I will be dynoing ASAP. The BC cams should compliment my newly ported head with 1mm oversize valves.
If someone gave me free dyno time, I could do a before and...
I talked to an MK4 owner a little while back who was using Eagle rods. He said that he was making 850rwhp and had over 100 10-second 1/4 mile passes. He also said he was using the ARP2000 rod bolts that came with them. His opinion was that as long as you stay under 900rwhp(on a six), you should...
I think you could do well with both 3'' and 4'' exhausts. Obviously the 4inch will flow better, but you will have to accept the noise and ground clearance issues. I have seen 3" exhausts handle well over 700rwhp on MK4's with out any problems.
I had a similar instance as Sean when I swapped...
