Go for it. The weight loss on the front end is significant. I weighed my stock battery and the my Odyssy on the same scale. The stock battery weighed 40pounds while the Odyssey weighed 15 pounds.
I have been using my odyssey for about 2 years and its still going strong. It has died on me a...
I'm pretty sure that the SP61GT uses the same exact turbine and compressor wheels as the SP58 turbo that sound performance uses on there MK4 turbo kits. If I were you, I would call Larry or Tim at SP and I'm sure they will help you.
I pull consistant 1.8 60fts with BGF (245/50/16)drag radials. I think I can pull a 1.7 if the track prep is good. You can mount 245/50/16 BFG DR's on stock rims. I would only use the Nittos DR's for an every day tire, there just not sticky enough for good 60fts.
ET steeets would be great, but...
12.4 at 119mph.........SP61GT@24psi Lex/550's with supporting mods. Stock 7M with cometic headgasket. Nitto DR's
12.4 at 116mph..........HPF turbo kit with SP59GT@20psi Same supporting mods. BFG DR's
Sorry, no timeslips..And no reason to lie.
"But do you like those pistons? I've only ran JE pistons in any engine that I've had. I had a set for an Acura block "
The shop said they liked the Arias pistons best because of better size conisistancies compared to some of the other forged pistons.
4.80 is the final software release? Sorry for the dumn question, I just thought I heard about another one coming out that's supposed to be the last version. Or did I miss something:icon_conf .
I have have dynoed at 25psi with me Lex AFM/SAFC and FCD. The combination should work. I believe the dial should be on #3 if I remember correctly. I cannot remember how it was wired in, but I did just what the directions said which seemed simple enough. Before I installed the FCD, I would hit...
The lex AFM and SAFC mod is pretty simple and effective. Probably the cheapest way to safely run more boost and power.
I'm ready to make a switch to the MAFT-pro, which seems to be the latest and greatest piggyback for the MK3. Isn't there supposed to be one more software version to be...
HA ha. I just looked at the price sheet again. Wow talk about some mis-prints.
Ok, it was about $1000 for all the machine work, balancing and assembly. And just under $1400 dollars for the pistons, rods, bearings and mains studs. Sorry for the mis-info..
File fitting rings is a major pain...
"What does Install piston SPRLX mean?"
Not sure. He told me, but I forgot......These guys do a great job. They did my friends 7M. He ripped apart the motor completely after they were done and remeasured the bearig clearances and they were absolutly perfect and exactly the same.
Yup, new oil...
Just picked up my block from AHM Perfromance. Here's what it consisted of in case any one is intersted in seeing what a typical build involves:
Degrease Block......................$114
Align Hone 7 mains...............$302
Mill inline block........................$151
Bore/Plate Hone...
Good info.. Sounds like stock springs might be best for me right now.
So I guess you are(IJ) saying that single aftermarket springs might be unreliable at continued high RPM? I wonder if stock springs will hold up better than (single)aftermarket springs-that is at a lower RPM.
Just for the record, I installed my Cometic headgasket about 2 years ago without getting the block decked. I had a mirror smooth and flat head, but I could not get the block perfect by just using a lapping compound(while the block was still in the car). Well, 2 years later and I'm having (once...
I think an AFC is needed just as much as anything. Most people will run very rich with the Lex/550 combo. I gained lots of of power in the topend by pulling fuel with my AFC. I made 511rwhp with Lex, 550's, AFPR, Walbro,(old)AFC, FCD. A wideband is good to have, but a dyno tune will work too.
"and the whole oil issue"
I'm still trying to figure out what that oil issue is. Maybe its more of an internet issue:icon_bigg . But yes the JZ's are fine too.
