I guess staying with a 7M would be a mistake........if you have no clue what you're doing.
So how much does a 2JZ swap cost now a days?
Just wondering since my fully built 7M(forged rods and pistons) with a built head(oversize valves, springs/retainers/porting/polishing/5 angle valve...
Hey nordline, if you need any spare 7M parts in the future, let me know. In less than a couple of months I will have my old 7M out and a new one in. I will sell parts off of it for very cheap. Not really trying to macke much profit.. Right now I have 6 used piston and rods that are in good...
A lot of the 3000GT guys are using twin 16G turbos, although in most cases they are using the higher flowing EVO16G's. I can't remember what the exact power rating of a small 16G is, but I believe its 340hp per turbo, so figure low 600's rwhp and there maxed out.
Any brand name forged piston should work fine. They are all made form the same forging process. Ross pistons are heavier than most other brands;something to keep in mind if your concerned about internal rotational mass.
No way.. I don't believe it...Supras can never lose...
It was obvious the Subaru was making a good bit more power, and was probably lighter too. I would like to know what kind of transmission and driveline upgrades were done to the Subie..Its looked like he wasn't even using a clutch to shift.
"race gas is still VERY cheap here- 110 for $5.25/gal, 116 for $10/gal....ironic that it doesn't go up nearly as fast as pump gas...."
Now that I think about it, I remeber the local track selling CAM2 110 for $6.00 per gallon. I guess the C16 is following the oil companie trends.
Getting...
I still reccomend trying methanal injection. There are members on SF that have been running it safely for several years. On our motors, a big 67mm turbo is not going to be in its efficiency range untill about mid-20psi level. From what I've seen, a 61mm turbo and a 67mm turbo are very close in...
If you have the AEM, you should be able to back off the timing to run 20psi. I would find a good tuner that knows how to monitor knock and can establish a conservative timing table that would allow you to run 20psi on 93. But then again, the question is how much power will you lose with lower...
I have seen in person two MK4 Supras(in person) both dyno in the mid 600 range. One had a GT4067DBB and one had a BL67DBB(P-trim.68A/R). They nearly had identical spool and were running right around 28psi with similar mods. I was impressed by both turbos especially in the spool area, but it...
Good numbers. I would suggest getting an electronic boost controller if you can. I noticed much better spool-up on my SP61GT using the ECV rather than just running off of the wastegate.
Throw in some racegas and see what that SP61 can do. I dynoed at 451rwhp uncorrected with that turbo at...
Hey, I'm happy.. I just beleive the MK3 (although heavy), is a great platform to build on for speed. 11's should be easy for most people who are willing to sink a little nmoney into there Sup.
Also, a common problem with the early SP61GT's was the wastegate rod would be coming out of the actuator at an angle. This would also cause the wastegate to malfunction. This happened to mine and I was constinantly running 20psi. I had to bent the actuator rod so it would push straight instead...
Like I've said before, I have been using the PC680 for a couple of years now with no problems. It has a little trouble keeping a charge for extended periods of time when its very cold, but I'm going to invest in one of those $15 trickle chargers for the winter. Nothing like losing 25 pounds off...
"My supra can pull a 1.7 sixty foot on 225 50 R 16's at the moment. What's the rest of you guys excuse?"
So how come your only running an 11.9 with such a high trap speed(of 124mph)?
"i hate to go to the track and see these turbo hondas do 10s and some even in the 9s streetable (drove to the track and then drove home)"
I would just love to see that.. The 10 second hondas I see at the track are trailer queens with big slicks on the front wheels. Most of then can't even...
