Is the connector for the oil pressure sender clean and making a good connection to the sender. Their should be a rubber cover to protect it but I would inspect that. Also on the oil pressure gauge, the gauge itself has a little tiny metal peice that connects to a peice of plactic(mine broke...
I would use the OEM headgasket. If you dont get the head resurfaced then inspect it and clean it very good.
I spent $40 to get mine resurfaced. I just had to remove the camshafts and reinstall them and torque down the caps to spec's.
You pull the 15A EFI fuse in the engine bay for about 1 minute for the codes and I would recheck the clamps that are on the rubber hose that comes off the turbo and goes to the intercooler.
I would recheck the screws(2 or 3 iirc) in the back of the gauge cluster that hold the gauge in place and make sure they are tight, clean, and making a good connection.
I got the driverside hose from pepboys and it was just a long straight hose with alittle 90 degree bend(for the heater core on top) at the end and it was very nice and did not have all those bends like the stock hose.
The gray style coil pack plug should fit on the green type plug on the engine harness if not then it is just a small harness on the coil pack with 3 plugs on the 3 coils that can be changed.
Did you test for resistance on the coils?
Inspect the Positive wire that runs from the starter to the battery. It may be corroded pretty bad and it could be droping the voltage. I had that problem and I repleced it+ cleaned the other small terminal on the starter and on the engine wiring harness and the Supra starts right up everytime now.
