What exactly does the tach adapter do? I know of several cars running a perfectly accurate tach with OEM parts. I have pretty much every piece of pre 89 and 89+ gauge clusters available to me, I just don't know what the right combination is.

Your friend definitely needs to take better care of his motor. If he had enough sense to see that it was lean, he should have enough sense to stop boosting. I doubt that happened from a split second of going lean, he'd have to be on it for a good bit.

I was about to go with the kit but changed my mind. Then I saw one in person and I'm so glad I went t4 from the get go. If you're already doing the swap, just save the extra money and go with a full t4 setup. It is definitely worth it!
