What did you do to your supra today? Pics

No, but I definitely rendered mine unusable on my 1JZ... I replaced my core support to fix the damage from a previous owner's wreck. 12 hours and bad welding later...finished product on top

    1jz swap coming soon

1JZ, yes. Another tip is to replace the coolant hide behind the head. Mine leaks and I can't get to it without the engine out of crazy contortion of my arm. Here's a pic of everything I have ordered from driftmotion. This doesn't include buying an Izuzu trooper timing belt (if I remember...

    1jz swap coming soon

I think my swap cost me about $6k total, but I started with an automatic Chaser engine. So I had to buy an R154, clutch, flywheel, bellhousing, oil pan etc. I also got my harness from Dr. tweak because I barely know how to plug a lamp in. I would recommend going single turbo before putting the...

Mk3 supra collusion parts...specifically radiator support

I bought my car thinking the same, and here I am with a donor now lol. Getting the lights to line back up right is going to be hard.

Mk3 supra collusion parts...specifically radiator support

You need a donor chassis. As far as I know, there is no one who makes them. Probably since they're spot welded into the car.

    Coolant leak behind head

Update for anyone's future reference. After some spelunking and staring at pictures I found the leak to be coming from the coolant hose that connects to the back of the head. It appears the coolant drips onto the coolant pipe behind the engine, then runs down to the passenger side. It also seems...

    Coolant leak behind head

I have a mystery coolant leak behind the head. It drips off the bellhousing and the block is wet on both sides of the engine. There is also coolant on the underside of the metal pipe that runs across the back. It doesn't seem to be consistent though. Yesterday I started the car and I could see...

    The Small Questions Thread

Snagged an 86.5 today. The rocker panels are rusted, but other than that I'm not seeing any signs of major rust on the car. Is this a common problem? I don't see any rust on anything but the rocker panels when looking through the holes. Also, is this easy to replace? I have a donor with no rust.

    Oil pan resealing question

I ran the sealant around both sides of each hole like you did to be safe. Have had no problems.

    The Small Questions Thread

Is the Carbon Creations hood the best option for aftermarket? Also, I think my shifter problem was from a rubber washer that the previous owner put between the spring and the cup. It was getting jammed. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be there or if he did that as a spacer since the bushing...

Does it really take 8 years?

Took me a year and about 6k. I estimate 80 to 100 hours, but it was my first swap so there's a lot of learning experiences. A lot of little things you don't expect cause issues. So you end up waiting for parts you didn't know you needed a lot. And my swap doesn't even look good. But hey, it...

Need info on my parts car

Definitely the nose. No easy to find aftermarket version of it. And any other easily removable body panels. Headlight fixtures probably. Tail light housings. I guess anything that would be hard to find aftermarket.

    The Small Questions Thread

I removed both the worn parts and replaced them. Put everything back the same way. It'll be a couple weeks till I have time to mess with it. I'll get pictures of what I have.

    Aristo 2JZ MK3

I went with Dr. Tweakd for my 1JZ harness. As someone who is bad at wiring it was the best money I spent on my swap. Expensive, but saved a lot of hassle.

    The Small Questions Thread

I can't figure out any way I messed it up. Is there a rubber seal that goes under the cover that I don't have?

    The Small Questions Thread

I replaced my shifter bushing and socket with the marlin crawler ones. Is it normal for them to be so tight I have to loosen the cover to get the shifter to move?

1jz-gte boost, ignition, or fuel cut?

I would guess boost cut. Are you sure your wastegate is working?

    The Small Questions Thread

I have regrets about cutting out the core support (radiator support) when I did my swap. Didn't have a load leveler and the engine was half in the car before I realized my mistake, and had to cut it to get the engine in. Does anyone know if it's an important structural component to the car? Or...
