Since I've owned the car my brake pedal slowly goes to the floor when light pressure is applied. Heavy pressure doesn't cause the pedal to sink. I bled the brakes and it's definitely better, but still happens sometimes. Bad master cylinder? I don't seem to be losing brake fluid.
Valve cover gaskets and I mounted a gauge pod on the A pillar. The former went great, the latter not so much. Discovered the trim is foam glued to some sheet metal. I got one screw through the sheet metal and said "screw it, good enough." For once I wish the trim was plastic...
Driftmotion sells some 7/8" oil hose that will replace the stock rubber hoses. Because of the weird bend in one of the stock hoses, I remember having to chop a bit off one of the metal tubes from the turbo to make a straighter path for the hose. I think I had to put a little elbow grease into...
So I guess an update. I think pin 9 (ignition switch) isn't needed and is just a signal to tell the stock ecu the engine is being started. Same with the starter motor (pin 79).
Main relay appears to go to to AUX from a forum thread I found.
I think the starting parameters in the ECU make those...
Probably. I just figured more traffic goes through this section so the likelihood of finding someone familiar with standalones is greater.
Looks like this is what I'm going with for the pins. I'll report back in a few weeks hopefully when it's all done.
This might be a tall order, but it would be much appreciated if someone could double check my pins. It's an ECU Master EMU. Going from a JZX90 Chaser 1JZ.
This might also be a good opportunity to have on here for future reference to anyone considering the ECU.
Feel free to ask for...
I've had all the seals in dry. No leaks from the main seals after ~1300 miles. Diff seals are holding well too, but only a hundred miles or so. I don't drive the car enough to rack up a lot of miles though.
I drive the car 20-30 miles a week only in good weather on the street, so I'm not necessarily opposed to having something super grippy on the rear and something normal on the front.
My current tires are crap. They spin once on boost in 1st and 2nd. Given the 225 max size that will fit, are there any good options for holding 350-400 rwhp down the road? Currently sitting at 300-320 flywheel by butt dyno and estimating 13psi on an HX35.
Or am I just screwed until I get a...
On my 1JZ, I slapped a breather filter right onto the IAC when I converted to single turbo. Haven't had issues. Can't speak for the 7MGTE specifically though. Driftmotion sells a small K&N breather that will fit.
Put in an oil catch can, actually mounted my dipstick with more than zipties, and slapped a filter straight onto the IAC. Engine bay is finally looking mildly respectable.
