ahh i see, thanks for the info. so if the 2j injectors can drop into a 1j rail, are the harness clips the same?? i know i've seen a thread about the differences, is there a certain year range 2j injector that you need to drop into a 1j, or will any do?
i don't remember what the stock mkiv IC looks like...is it like a 7mgte, or are the inlet and outlets on opposite sides? (where it could be mounted on its side, in the front)
just wondering about my options cause i might be able to find a stock mkiv IC kit for cheap.
what has to be done to make the 89+ rear tail lights work? any harness cutting or just drop in?
how does the '88 antenna compare to the '89+ setup? will my 88 hole line up with an 89 wing?
can someone reference me to an install guide for the lights/wing? i tried searching but i couldnt...
has anyone put a stock 2J IC with piping on their mk3 and have some pics?? mine would be from a '94 tt.
trying to get an idea of how it would work, if it works...
thanks
you want to take the head in and at least get checked for trueness, and cleaned.
Or have them rebuild the head which consists of the shop disassembling the head, and re-"sealing" the valve in the valve seat by re-grinding the angles on each valve. it can get a bit pricey, but well worth...
Bad valve stem seals will suck in oil when downshifting, which would explain why it is burning oil.
And once the engine is off, oil can leak down past the valve stem seals into your cylinders...so that when you start it next, it smokes for a bit.
What condition are the valve stem seals in?
any updates on a translated manual?
I tried sending the jdm manual to my old boss, where I worked at a place that did OCR'ing and translating, but he doesn't have the capability for japanese to english...
that sucks...so whats the verdict on what exactly happened?
sounds to me that the fuel line had something to do with it, and a sloppy harness could def spark some fumes and ruin your day/week/month/car...
definitely salvageable tho...your probably one of the lucky ones
