i would say the swap is worth it you get a lot more mid range power.
and as for the cylinder head
1jz is better for low / mid range you will spool a larger turbo faster with a 1jz head then a 2jz head.... 2jz head youll have more top...
I have the TTC fuel rail I havnt had a chance to see if it leaks since MVP or whoever they got the rail from sent me all the wrong bolts, like the bolts dont even come close to matching I think a blind person could have done a better job sorting the bolts they gave me.

swap a cluster that works and check for codes stop wasting time trying to figure out whats wrong more then likely you just have to replace the 90 cent bulb behind the check engine light in the cluster.
both of my cars have the isc vented with no filter or anything on them and they dont sound anything like that.
sounds like your tb gasket didnt set right or the intake manifold gasket didnt set right.
my friends eclipse sounded like that when his intake manifold gasket started to fall...
F it you dont plan on using the motor drive it till it locks up.
my car drove fine with bhg the only reason i noticed it was because the coolent had oil flowing through it lol, that was spring of 2002.

the only difference between the soarer and the supra 1jz is the harness its not their fault that you have pre89 mounts for some unknown reason..
