so sometime in the life of your supra your car got a new motor and they used the mounts from a pre89...... those mounts will work in a supra but not your supra you need the bic pre89 mounts.
btw what part of maryland? i could maybe stop by to help out with the swap.
i have the bic mount...
yep
also your going to need a fitting that is 12mm x 1.25 to 4an for the oil feed off the side of the block.
i normally just cut the bottom of the oil drain tube and leave about an inch of pipe because the 12an ss hose will slide over that pipe and then all you need to do is use two worm...
turbo
manifold
wastegate
downpipe
oil feed and return 4an and 12an
block off the rear oil feed for the turbo
and just run a vac line from the wastegate to the rear of the intake manifold.
did you try pulling any check engine codes?
stock turbo's are Always going to blow going single should be one of the top things on you list.
were you able to fix the knock sensors? if not thats what is putting your car into limp mode and messing everything up.
well if it has different pistons and the oil system is a little different i wouldnt call it identical ;) and its mostly the tune and the type of gas used but iv seen 970 on a stock ge block. ( dyno tune section on sf )
my 1jz Auto harness was p&p with the mkiv auto tranny ( they all use the same connectors )
ill be taking it out in a few weeks for a 5 speed as this has been my third shimmed auto tranny.
i used that, the main 1jz connector isnt the same shape and has a few extra ac wires but other then that all the colors matched it was pretty simple all you really need is the efi and alt.
there is a grey plug with like 5 wires on it that doesnt get plugged into anything and then there is a little white wire that also doesnt get hooked into anything.
so i took some pictures of my friends wiring to his 1jz supra
the grey and white connector dont connect to anything and everything that is needed is connected and the second pink wire you dont splice into anything.
blue and brown are both for AC they arn't needed to start the car im just worried that i wired those extra two wire's in wrong :(
can you post some pictures up of your wiring?
