Shift boot and E-brake boot can be replaced failry cheap with OEM parts. Steering wheel is another story.
My PO installed a cheap vinyl wrap on the steering wheel to "Protect it"!! When I took it off, the plastic wrap had worn the paint off the leather. So now I have a blue zebra...
Mine was broken and I bypassed it I then had a friend of mine recharge my AC with R12 and saw it was broken and said that I should replace it because it could collapse my gas tank! Don't know if thats even possible. But I replaced it with a new one anyway. Now atleast it doesn't stick out...
Tint has always been one of those things that I've always wanted to do myself, but I have always taken it to someone to do.
I've pretty much done everything on my 280z and my Supra myself. If I don't know how to do it, I will learn. I don't like other people working on my cars.
I've...
My Power Steering resevior is also just sitting there not bolted down as well. But mine is missing the second bracket piece that bolts it down to the engine.
Swapped out the Power Steering pressure line and I now understand why some people say its a pain. But overall it wasn't to bad once I figured out how to attack it. So far it its not leaking. I haven't driven it yet. But I think it will be good.
Up next is the tranny. Filter, flush, and...
My car sat for 7 years confirmed! And it was not that bad. But it was stored in a garage and had a full tank which difinately helps. Fuel pump was bad but I was amazed that it look clean inside. Gas did small pretty rancid though.
Yep. Its coming from the pressure line. Hopefully I can get that swapped out this week. Will probably get one from Autozone. Hopefully I don't have a hard time swapping it out like some have mentioned.
Any way to do it with the head and exhaust manifold still in car! :3d_frown:
The last stud near the firewall is stripped on mine. Has a small exhaust leak. Not to bad. But I definately need to fix it. One of the many things to fix! :aigo:
I was going to check out the No1 Solenoid when I change the tranny filter and do a ATF Flush. But I noticed these wires and thought I better fix them first.
After some searching, it seems like my Neutral Start Switch was bypassed by jumping the black and white wires together. This car is...
Its a Turbo. I figured it was a knock sensor. I guess I will feel around till I find it.
Do you know what the clipped wired do? I am going to solder them and heat shrink them back together. But was wondering what issues what would cause. I'm getting Tranny Code 62 and was wondering if...
I need some help determining what is unplugged below the intake in my 88 Supra Turbo. It seems to be some sort of sensor. I also have some spliced wires that I would like to know what they are for and why someone would have done it.
Sorry for the blurry pics...
Here is the sensor that...
I spent most of the weekend cleaning out a spot in the garage to clear up space for the Supra. So I now can work out of the sun!! I did however find that the leak is definately Power Steering Fluid. I sat under the car and ran it and had no leak I could see. Then I turned the wheel to full...
I guess I will see how it goes. I've never done any Auto Tranny work. But you have to learn one way or another.
I think its the power steering because it leaked real bad when I backed into a spot and turned the wheel to full lock. It hadn't leaked that bad before that. I may have kinked...
I think I will remove the pan and replace the filter. Then try to do the flush myself. I usually try to do as much work on my car myself as I can.
I'm starting to think that the leak is coming from the Power Steering. I haven't had time to look into it completely yet. I will see if I...
Thanks for the links. I've been reading most of the threads on here and have a pretty good idea on what I need to do to change out the filter and fluid. The underbody was an oily mess, so I cleaned that up a little yesterday. I need to find out if its tranny fluid or power steering fluid...
Well I finally got time to work on the Supra and got my Brakes and tail lights working properly. I had to buy a Minivac Brake Bleeder kit to get all the air out of the system after I replaced the master cylinder because I wasn't getting any fluid out the rear calipers. But now thats all fixed...
