FYI...I decided to clean the contacts for the tail lights last night and when I got to the last bulb I noticed it was mounted backwards. So I flipped it around like the rest and now my tailights are working properly!
I am having the exact same problem. My car had been sitting for a couple years. The brakes were dragging when I finally got her started. So I replaced the Master Cylinder. Bench bled the master and then tried to bleed the entire system and it wasn't getting anything from the rear...
I guess I got pretty lucky. My car was sitting for 8 years and it had a full tank of gas. Other than smelling pretty bad it did not turn into varnish. The tank was clean and the lines were not clogged. I did have to buy a new fuel pump and once I did that it leaked pretty bad and I had to...
The Supra Stick was the first Mod I did on my car! haha. It was missing one day and I found out the wife was using it to paint the kitchen. The supra stick doubles as a paint roller stick for extra cash!
Hmmm...I guess the first thing I will do is just clean the contacts real good. Some looked pretty nasty and the screws were a little loose. If that doesn't do it, I'll bypass the sensor.
I have searched and found many threads about this topic, but none really describe what my tail lights are doing. First off when the car is off and I hit the brakes they work fine. As soon as I turn on the car and hit the brakes they stay on and the failure light on the dash turns on. Only the...
I really wasn't planning on putting WD40 on them but I had read a couple post that suggested that if the rotor was really rusty to get it to atleast move and then to degrease them afterwards. Didn't sound like a good idea but i'm glad that I mentioned it here to confirm. doh! haha.
This...
A little update. I went to read the codes for ABS but when I unplugged the ABS Actuator connector the light went away and I didn't get anything. It no longer turns on! Maybe it reset.
But my brakes were still dragging. I took the rear calipers off and noticed that they were still...
I've been reading the TSRM all day and I will check the codes when I get home. I'm not sure if the light was on before it was parked, as I just got the car.
It has brake fluid and I did loosen the bleeder valve on the rear brakes and only one of them had fluid come out. I guess I will...
I've been trying to get my 88 Supra running and back on the road. It had been sitting for a very long time. I now got it running but I am unable to drive it because the brakes are dragging pretty bad and the Antilock light on the dash is lit. I'm guessing the rear brakes are seized. I don't...
This car had been sitting since 2001 when it had a BHG. The PO took it to a shop to have it fixed, but the mechanic took several months to finish it. Not sure why. But the PO got pissed and demanded to get it back. So the mechanic rushed to finish it and gave it back to the owner. He did...
Thought I would start a build thread since the other post was in the introductions area. Figured if I started a build thread I could ask some technichal questions and get more advice.
I basically found this Supra sitting in my brothers neighbors garage. It was burried behind boxes and...
Very true about the tools! I hate the feeling of not having the right tool for the job! But is there a specific tool that Toyota uses for these clips?
I like the clips when I can take them on and off easily, but when I have no room to stick my hands or my pliers they are a pain in the ass...
I also hate this! I also hate the ones that are two pieces. Same pinch style, but there are two on top of each other? Can't explain it, but I think you know which ones i'm talking about.
I've used needle nose pliers as well as vice grips, but it still takes me way more time than it...
I either don't have the right tools, right technique, or am just an idiot!! But I have such a hard time with those damn pinch clamps!! ARGHH!!!! I was working on my Supra thats been sitting for a long time and just finished changing the injector seals and decided to change out the radiator...
So how much is he asking for it? Have you made an offer on it yet? Just wondering.
I say do whatever makes you happy. You the one paying for it right. In the end its your car! Well actually not yet! haha!
