    Ford Gear (LSD) Oil

I just changed my diff fluid last monday, and it takes a little over 1.5 quarts. So, buy 2 quarts of bulk 75w90 from Ford ($16/qt here), + their friction modifier (~$7), and I would suggest picking up a small hand pump from Advanced ($12), so you can pump the fluid in yourself, while laying...

Opinion on Casino/Hotels in Las Vegas

+ 1 on the Luxor, its a really neat hotel/casino, and is connected to the Mandalay Bay and the Excalibur via indoor walkways, so you can mozy around 3 casinos at once without hitting the strip if you want. The indoor atrium is almost scary, from 30-40 floors up looking down...pretty wild and...

Will an '89+ steering column combo switch fit on a pre '89??

I should have prefaced the fact that I am using an aftermarket steering wheel, and have modified my slipring as follows (see post #4): http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10870&highlight=horn+steering+wheel I don't have CC installed, so I just need my horn to work. So...

Will an '89+ steering column combo switch fit on a pre '89??

Just wondering if I can swap my 88 combo switch assembly (wipers and headlight stalks) for an 89+ one. Is the connector under the dash the same? Will it just slide onto the column and fit correctly?? I like the look of the 89+, and my headlight switch has seen better days. Thanks

Need a whole thread to post my MKIV! Come see why!!! (56K DIE!!!)

Niiice. I'm looking forward to some updates when you get further!! Keep up the great work. You ever think about doing this kind of thing for a living/side job? Seems like you could make some real money, the way you are doing it. Invest under 10k, sell it for 20+...

    Armrest w/tray attached

Is it just the armrest that is different (the actual hinged pad), or is it the entire center console, from the shifter back?

Need a whole thread to post my MKIV! Come see why!!! (56K DIE!!!)

I just went through your thread, and when I saw the first pics of the car when you got it, I thought to myself "no way that is salvageable...or at least not worth the $$ to fix" :slap: I love being proved wrong!! Awesome project, you and your dad should feel pretty damn good on how this thing...

    Stock Differential Capacity??

Thats the info I was going on...I have 120K on my stock diff, and I wanted something that was proven for high(ish)-mileage diffs. So far so good, I have driven it 3-4 times with no noise, and no chattering....Before the fluid change, for about a week, I had noise while turning at <10mph, and...

    Stock Differential Capacity??

BTW: I bought my fluid today from Ford, at $16/qt x2, + $7 for the additive....geeze. But the weird noises from the rear around slow turns are gone so far, so I can't complain. I also bought a small hand pump from Advance for $12 that worked perfect for me, with the car on the ground. I plan...

how does jz timing belt tensioner work?

I used a bench vise, and a small allen wrench to hold it compressed as you install it. There is a small hole thru both the tensioner housing and piston, that lines up when it is compressed enough. Oh and the tensioner is real easy to get to, from under the car, between the alternator and...

    3 piece taillight

Razoe - I checked out Johnathan1's car and sent him a pm, I think his looks good, thanks for the tip. gsmokez - I personally like the look of the pre 89 trim, with the uniform hump, and the subtle stripes in it. The 89+ looks too plastic (which it is of course), and I don't like the lower...

yea that makes the most sense, that would be an interesting project to say the least.

    3 piece taillight

no idea what that means, but if you mean tape the old trim over the 89+ center piece trim, thats not what we had in mind I am sure. if not, do you have pics? It seems like somebody could shave down the plastic trim part of the 89+ center piece, with a belt sander even, and then epoxy the...

    3 piece taillight

I have been wondering about this too; I like the look of the pre 89 trim, and it would be nice to be able to attach it to the 89+ center piece. When I installed my 89+ tails, it looked like it would be a PITA to get the 89+trim off nicely, and try to attach the older trim. Anyone do this before??
