^ Uhh... kinda the contrary. I still need my DPO welded up and an 02 sensor... I still got the TSRM. Just need to find a time when I can drop it off to him when he's not in Greenwood I guess. Or I'll just wrap it up and throw it on his porch. Which I'm thinking about doing. I'm just...

    big problem!

^ Did you pull it off and check to make sure the groove in it was still good? Did you checkt he crank and the keyway also? Nothing good has ever come of a loose crank pulley, to my knoweledge anyway.

    Tips on transmission removal?

^ nah, you should never have your body, leg, arm, hand, or fingers under something that big being suspended by a chain to begin with, thats just asking for trouble. (I'd post pics of some Xrays I took of what happens when things go bad, but I'm not at home) I took a trans out once by itself...

    A Sad Day

^ Rebuild it... I got some used rods if you need them. I rebuilt mine for cheap, the worste part was waiting for machining. It's not race season anymore (I dont think) so you will probably have better luck than me. Just don't say "Whenever you get around to it..." :icon_bigg Also, you...

    NO SPARK

^ sheesh, those CPS wires can be pretty tempermental at times. I could see how they could have bad contact w/ the CPS installed and good contact when he had it in a different position. Anyone who has ever had to wiggle those wires to get it to start will attest to that. I always hate when...

I did see a set-up using PVC that they got a... I guess I'd call it a Y piece and they adapted it down to whatever size a BOV flange would mount to and did it that way. Sure it was ghetto, but apparently it was working.

    Tips on transmission removal?

^ Exactly. it's all in what he has to work with and how much he feels like biting off. Honestly, if you don't... hell even if you DO know what you're doing lining up the engine/trans is a real PITA under the car, auto or 5sp

    Tips on transmission removal?

Psshh.... if you have to clean out your glove box... 10 screws and that harness is outtie *edit* Jason, next time we pull an engine, we're doing a step by step and a time-lapse thing to show how efficient it really is. I'd say an hour, and me and Jason could have an engine/trans on the...

    Tips on transmission removal?

Am I the only one who thinks lining the engine/trans up out of the car is worth the extra work and oppurtunity to fix/replace a bunch of other parts while you're at it? I don't know anything, I drive a mkII for pete's sake.

    Tips on transmission removal?

^ lol, yeah... I'll go against the doubts and say you could.... How long did it take you to get everything lined back up, the starter back on, and all that jazz? We'll go on saying dropping the trans only is fastest, but you can do SOO much more maintenance w/ the engine out as well.
