leave the tranny on. It is so much easier. I did my tranny today and that wasn't fun. And you shouldn't have any problem with the bearings. Just blow the turbo out.
And are the tree wires on the back of the alternator in the right order and all the other wires have no breaks. Well I'd say get another alernator if you have the warranty. Or get it checked.
did you check the engine fuse behind the driver side kickpanel? It should be either a 7.5 amp or a 15 amp. My new alternator wouldn't charge I replaced the blown engine fuse and it worked. Try that.
