Stupidest thing would be me wrecking a supra 5 days after I bought it...with insufficient insurance coverage to cover a single penny (liability only)...!!
I never ended up making any extra harness's, but I thought that making my own wasn't all that difficult.
If you decipher the wiring diagram, ignore the JB's (junction boxes), and take your time, you can wire these up. It took some time, but it was great practice I think!
Oh one other...
MUCH NEEDED UPDATE:
I will have to get pictures up this week, but a lot has happened in the past 2 months...the wrecked blue supra is completely stripped, and has found a new life at the recycling yard :(
My basement has turned into a Supra-parts warehouse (will be posting up spare parts...
yea trubofreak's blue supra started a craving for me and a lot of people I am sure..I LOVED that car from the first pictures I saw over a year ago, but shit happens :nono:
such sad pics...:nono:
that is good motivation, and I had read through your thread wayyy before and said the same...
thanks man...I hope to have a good update later this weekend.
Nice looking color on your supra! pretty far away too, huh?
By The Way, my PARTOUT THREAD IS HERE.
Help me sell this stuff!!
Haha I was wondering if someone would ask about that side note in the first post...here's what happened:
Met the girl (Julie ) when I picked up the car (12/13-14) in VA Beach...went back the following weekend to visit friends/see her/caravan back with the 1JZ that had been at my friends...
yea this harness is jacked up Ben!! hahaha J/K...but it is pretty worn out and brittle for sure....Justin, PM me a picked up price please :naughty:
I might be back down that way soon :sarcasm:
EDIT: aren't the '90-'92 harness different from the '89, or are they interchangeable??
both can be done. the USDM cams have SLIGHTLY larger lobes (I think it is referenced in this thread by me or BigZavs), due to the EGR equipment, thus provide slightly greater gains.
in other words, both can be machined, but the USDM cams are preferred over the JDM cams.
taken to PM :biglaugh:
I'll get back to you about your inquiry, I have to figure out which I am using..
:aigo: I still can't believe it...
thanks, stuff happens tho...or that's what I keep telling myself! I am actually really excited about this project. Just picked up some...
UPDATE:
after work yesterday afternoon, I spent some time in the engine bay of the white shell, tearing it down. all in all, everything looks good...no rust hiding in any corners, and it looks like almost everything is still in place, besides the engine, harness, and trans...all of which is...
yeaaa those rims aren't bad!! they will be FS soon tho haha.
thanks again for the quick help man, I owe you one. if I have any parts you need, let me know. I now have a lot of blue cloth interior pieces!! all three of my current supras are blue cloth lol.
but I have sawblades, '89+...
first post updated with revised plan, new pics, etc.
bottom line: dark blue supra is done, but will mostly (engine, trans, interior, few body pieces, etc.) be re-born into my new '89 white targa shell!!
Duuuuude! Yes I did, thanks for the contact. :naughty:
...I have been postponing an update until I have all of the info etc....be on the look out for an update soon, maybe today :evil2:
muuuch better pics added in first post..
Yes, I talked to Bart, thanks! I am planning on heading out his way to check it out soon..sounds like it will be a good deal.
HAHAHAHA I thought it could have been that at first, but then I remembered how reality works, and how Pogoism9 is right!! Haha :sarcasm:
We are all supra sluts it seems...I have driven/owned:
- My dad's old '88 black/tan leather auto/NA targa, in good shape
- The white '88 blue leather...
