If your in gear the shifter won't lift out. There is also four bolts that hold it to the tranny under the rubber boot besides the one on the tunnel, I'm pretty sure.(Thats how it is on the r154, could be different for the w58)
If your still having trouble with no start try taking a ohm meter and see what the resistance is between the clamp and the battery post. Then work your way down the line toward the starter. Is the click coming from the solenoid on the starter or somewhere else?
Do you have any examples of where to get these turbo's for cheap? I was looking for one and all I can find are new ones selling for like 1400

well if the block is already built I would recommend leaving that. Besides you don't want to go much over .040 over bore on these blocks.
Just build the head, port/polish oversize valves and cams and springs depending on how much you want to rev too.
