No I don't want to use ducting. I am going to put all this work into this setup and not actually do it right.:icon_razz lol
There will be ducting as well as full underbody aero ducting and a custom rear diffusser
Thanks for all the feedback guys. I have heard that the v-mount isn't quite as effective at low speed however I want to try it anyways and we'll find out for sure. I got a few more pics today.
Started cutting on the bumper the other day. Not nearly done yet but it give a general idea:
Lots of...
There is a remote reservoir and the main radiator cap is going to be up on the upper radiator outlet kinda by the oil fill.
On the subject of AC you could probably actually keep it easily if you just mounted the condensor on top of the radiator.
These are the only pics I have of the car...
This car hasn't had ac since I bought it, It does have a targa and windows I can roll down. Lol
I am building this car for a weekend driver/ cruiser when the weather is nice. I am blessed to live in a area where it never really gets above 100 outside and thats rare.
BTW if anyone has a set of...
the radiator is already mounted. It is below the intercooler, I'll get a pic of it today. And yes, I am going to try to replicate the stout.
Here is a diagram of how my v-mount is setup.
BTW Poodle I've always wondered, In your sig it looks like the top of the driver side fender is all dented...
I'm not really sure if it does. Why would you want to bolt a 2j head onto the 1j block if the 1j head already flows more?
Yes it is a 2jge, I wanted to keep my 1j whole so I could put it into a toyota pickup. I need a work truck
Onto some updates, sorry about the cell pics
End tanks mocked up...
Reason is because I can...I wanted to see how it would work. I would like to see 600 at the ground which shouldn't be too hard, may need a larger turbo. The core is 4.5"
So I got this car back in the Winter of 08 and it wasn't in nearly the shape I thought it would be, full story is here
Got the car like this (including bat sticker, :icon_razz):
Then Rebuilt the turbos and got it running on AEM because I found out the ECU was bad...
After this I was able...
Thanks for posting this! I am working on building my 2j right now and was planning on making something like this. Just needed one to copy, I am going to make them out of Stainless Steel, and try to incorporate a crank scraper.:naughty:
Let me know if anybody else wants one. I'll be able to beat...
My idle air valve was bad when I got the car and new ones are rather expensive. (~$300) I got the ford style one for cheap and wanted to see if I could use it...
Hey guys I saw this thread was brought back up already, I am going to make some more changes to my car such as ls3 coils and also getting rid of the stepper motor idle air control for a ford style solenoid Idle air valve. I am still using the v1 AEM and was wondering if I could get some insight...
Not sure exactly how much it is to do... I will deal with it when I get to that point, I still have alot of stuff to buy, working 50-60 hours a week is great to save money but it doesn't leave much time to work on the supra. Haha
Wow I was not expecting this to be brought back up again. lol. The car is completely apart again... I started getting some wrist pin noise from #4 and decided to ditch the 1j I am now using a 2jz Ge block and head. And I am doing a v-mount setup. I'll get some new pictures.
Planemos I am sorry...
Only thing that really makes sense is the turbo leaking oil, especially since you said the plugs were clean if it was burning that much oil there would be something on them. Have you pulled off the down pipe and looked at the hotside of the turbo? That would be the next step and then you could...
