Actually the v-mount is more efficient at higher speeds and also improves downforce. Lower speeds is where the setup is lacking. I'm almost done with mine actually.

I realized with price of tranny and new clutch, blah, blah, blah it would be cheaper to finish what I've done. Progress has been slow because of school+work+weekend drinking distractions however I have been working on it. I'll try to get a update sometime in the next week.
I've always had a plan to do a v-8 in this car. I want something that will respond really fast and make a streetable 700hp. It will be easier with 5.3 liters. Plus I'll be able to have a 6 speed and I think I'll be making a new firewall/tranny tunnel to mount this thing back about 6 more inches=...
So the Jz is getting parted out and replaced with a tt chevy v-8. If anyone needs parts I am selling everything except the tranny. Look for my for sale thread here. Updates on the v-8 will come in a month once I have some more money to put towards this.

Any Idea what turbo your going to run? And do you still have the stock intake manifold on there (have you ported it or anything)?
