I'd like to start a thread with possible ways of retaining a/c on a 7MGTE with a short runner FFIM.
As far as I can see the problem is that there will not be enough space to drop the alternator low enough when using a short runner.
So I was thinking in the lines of an electrical a/c pump...
I just had this with one of my other cars.
It was three of the eight the diodes in the alternator (I don't know if this applies to a Supra) that had died. At first the alternator was still working and charging the batteri. Then after a few days it wouldn't charge anymore.
I was told if...
If you have already pulled everything except the dash and headliner I'd go for painting the red car black. Just remove the last parts and you'll be getting a brand new car.
Black is the way to go :evil2:
This is not mine:
It's a danish car. The owner claims 900 horsepower.
It has done 9.97s
You can see the car here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kj8LIXbUrlU
It's not the 9.97s run btw.
They sell the relocation bracket for $80.
I belived he just got the manifold/TB/bracket. I also think the bracket was included.
Anyway, I don't understand why they don't make a short runner that will retain the alternator in the stock location. Much less hassle that way.
I thought Ron...
They make manifolds for 1JZ, 2JZ and 7MGTE. On their website the 1000 hp cars they are referring to are mkIVs. So I would assume that there are no 1000 hp 7MGTEs.
If you order from their website the price is $680 and includes the alternator relocation bracket. I know someone who ordered the...
Judging from the shape of the manifold it looks like it might clear the alternator thus retaining it in stock location as well as the a/c.
They certainly have changed the shape from their earlier models which required the alternator to be located to the a/c position.
My BC CAMS were within specs regarding the journals.
My engine builder measured everything and he found no problems.
They run great but they have not been dialed in yet.
The idle is not that smooth.
I'm going standalone soon so it will hopefully be a ting of the past.
Well, I don't know anything about his economy but I think this is more of a side business for him. He does other things too.
He simply imports Supras and sells parts and running cars. He does not do much for advertising himself.
As an example when I was looking for a Supra I didn't know...
He is not that much into computers and forums. He is active on danish forums though but that is about it.
I guess he'll rather spend his time working on his cars.
Since this thread has gone way off course I can just as well ask here:
Does the Race Logic TRC use wheel speed sensors?
I have looked up the AEM and it seems it is not using wheel speed sensors but engine accelation rate.
The MegaSquirt uses the same system.
I want proper TRC...
