If they are not sticking out too much as they are now you could have them widend on the inside to to able to run wider tires or stretching the tires you have now so they will clear your fenders.
My rims are 10" and +14 so they stick out a bit but with rolled fenders they should be ok. I...
This might be of some help to someone.

It's in german but I think you can figure it out by trying to enter a few different values. Otherwise just ask and I'll translate.
This is a classic german rim:
Borbet A 17 x 10
Mine are ET14 and they stick out quite a lot so lowering might not be possible. When that is said I talked to someone else who has the same rims and he has his mkIII is lowered 2½ inches without any rubbing.
I just found out that the timing had been set to 25 on my engine.
I'm not mechanically skilled so I had someone put the engine in the car after it had been rebuilt by a good mechanic. The only thing the guy had to do was to set the timing. Somehow he managed to set it to 25 instead of 12...
I just made a bracket holding the amp and the headunit together that way grounding them both when the headunit is put into place. I also ran a wire between the two just to make sure.
Mine didn't work when I was testing it out of the dash because it had no ground. I thought I had a broken unit...
Not quite sure what your problem is.
I have the same headunit and amp as you do (I think). I just plugged it in and it worked. I just had to ground both the amp and the headunit. Without grounding the amp it wouldn't work - it would just make a clicking noise.
My car is a 1992.
Tell me...
2 tone?
Didn't he just crash the car and all he could find was a black bumper so he put that on? Then he says: "Hey this reminds me of a Ferrari 512BB" so he sticks on a few badges and tries to sell it for ten times its value.
That is so ridiculous.::dunce::
So it's nice because he has stuck a few ferrari badges on it? Geez
His asking price is TWICE the going rate in Germany for a mint condition 1992 low mileage mkIII with leather interior.
And this car has done 180.000 km.
I paid half that for...
I been measuring on the car and I'm not so sure the a/c pump will not fit behind the alternator.
It needs to clear the steering column (lhd) but I think it might work.
The alternator just needs two pullies (on in each end) and a small belt for the a/c pump which could be raised above and...
I thought of an other way.
If the alternator is swaped for a model with a driveshaft that goes all the way through and placed where the a/c pump normaly sits then the a/c pump could be place behind the alternator and be be driven of the shaft.

Someone at SF told me that the Toyota Prius uses an electrical a/c pump.
I'll do some more research on that one.
Apparently it uses 150V. But I'll have to look into that.
