It almost sounds like you have something else wrong with your cooling system. Check your thermostat to make sure that it opens, replace with a 160 degree one, (that's what I have) make sure your fan clutch is working properly and waterpump is working properly. Then do a radiator flush. If...
I had a stocker and blew it up literally with a lot of hard boosting, but it was only 10psi. I replaced it with a new stock radiator and my car started to over heat and just get hot on long drives or a lot of traffic. I since then got a Koyo and it's been great, actually car seems to run too...
I'm thinking about changing the muffler, the only reason I took out my cat was because there was nothing in it and it droned even more.
Is this a quiet exhaust? I haven't ever looked into exhaust before.
Dude,
Just buy a good used fan, which you can find for like $20, and see if there is a local junk yard for the Shroud. I actually have one but haven't put it on my car in a long time. But I have a Koyo rad and new fan clutch.
Here are mine: 17x8 +35 with 245/45/17 Kumho SPT tires and 17X10+35 with 275/40/17 BFG Gforce Sport tires. The fronts are totally flush, the rears stick out just a tad, but look so mean!
Thanks, Nocheez,
I'm going to put my cat back on and get a resonator as well. I just want it a little more quiet.
There is a shop locally that will do the cut out that I found. Or I could just unbolt the cat when I go to the track.
OK Guys,
I have a 3" Exhaust system from turbo back, no cats, no resonator, just pipe and a Basani muffler. I am driving this car every day now and it's loud inside the cabin. It drones a lot!!! I'm thinking about putting my cat back on and adding a resonator to quiet it down a little and...
That thing should be spinning period. I have a Boss turbo and it's been rebuilt a couple of times and there is no reason it should do that. If there is no oil pressure or anything it will be really easy to turn the wheels. if you just put it on then tried to turn the wheel it's a little...
I only did a light spray on the flywheel, disk, and pressure plate, let it dry and then rubbed them down with a brillow pad to roughen up the surfaces. The brake cleaner actually got oil out of my disk and pressure plate. I let it dry for a couple of hours then roughed it up. I haven't had any...
I have gone to a couple of the events and there are always a bunch of MK3's that show up but never participate. I think the best year was 2006 when there was about 15 MK3's drag racing in two different classes and at least 4 in the 11's and a bunch in the 12's and 13's. If a nice looking MK3...
I think that I posted this same question on DFWMKIV. I had oil squirt out all over my motor and got some in the afm and top. I called my buddy Trent and he told me to get some electrical parts cleaner, the one from home depot and just mist where the sensor is and lightly spray. Then I put...
I think that the gauges together look great! I like to keep everything flowing well with being the same. You have helped in all the threads that I've posted and as soon as I get a EBC I'll send you this one free of charge. Now if I could just figure out this damn clutch deal I'll be set.
That's what i was thinking. I'm going to get a new one tomorrow. I'm going to get a new EBC have any suggestions Rennat? I have been looking into the AEM Tru boost to go along with my AEM AF gauge that is on the way. Putting them in a dual a pillar pod.
I have forged internals, the JE pistons. In the cold you will get a little slap, just make sure that you warm up your car for a little while when you first put them in. I don't drive until my temp gauge is atleast at the first marker, then driving it around will get it to normal. Forged...
When I went to the track the other day I noticed that I could only get about 10psi. I checked all my pipes and couplers and everything is fine. So I took out my TurboXS MBC that I have had for 4 years and I could blow right through it. I took it apart as far as I could and everything looked...
Thanks Speedfreak. When I changed out the transmission, I looked over the clutch, pressure plate and disk and everything looked fine. All the springs and everything. There wasn't even that much wear on the plate, disk and flywheel. I cleaned them all off With Brake cleaner and then used a...
See what is weird is I didn't really slip the clutch on that launch. Do you think that It could be something else not letting the clutch give free, like the pressure plate not being pushed all the way back and freeing up the disk?
I just did this 2 days ago. Did you unbolt the DS from the rear end? There should be 4 14mm nuts and bolts that you have to take out. At first I did not do this and the carrier bearing would drop a little but not enough for the DS to come fully out because there is a brace right before the...
