MS3X is extremely popular in the Miata world. MegaSquirt has been powering all sorts of drivetrains world wide, and is definitely proven. I doubt you'd regret going that route, still considering it on my DD..
The local tuner prefers tuning the V2, and as such, that's the route I'm going. They can usually tune whatever, but lots of my friends have AEM EMS' in their cars that he has tuned. As somewhat of a side note, you should really talk to whoever will be tuning your car to see if they have...
I meant to say that in my last post as well. I'd say that my "quiet" is definitely more conservative than most people's "quiet." I'm not old man status yet, but I certainly appreciate a more respectable, reasonable noise level that wont piss off people trying to sleep as you drive by. Part of it...
Normally I'd agree, but if you get the right setup (i.e. not a Burns straight-through with hardly any substance to it), it can be surprisingly quiet. The Super Drager (at least on the MkIV) is 3.5" and IMO the "perfect" sound level. I'm pretty sure my Miata with only a 2.25" Magnaflow catback...
I believe the local hardware store might have it cheaper. Either way, I'm going with that option myself, though I also was able to score some E32 lip brake ducts that I'll need to mount as well.
This guy knows whats up. It's not the 80s anymore...in 30 years, there has been massive leaps and bounds made in turbo technology. Heck, in just the past 5 years there have been. I dont imagine there to be massive improvements (like billet compressor wheels have been) to happen again in the near...
I'm doing the next best thing, since there hasnt been a good solid reliable aftermarket variable vane turbo: EFR turbo, twin scroll, and a quick spool valve!
The Raptor mufflers definitely look amazing, and I'm personally completely sold on the Magnaflow brand. I bought the biggest Magnaflow I could find in its size, but my car isnt running yet, so I cant say for sure how it will sound, but I imagine it will be nice. I'm strongly considering getting...
That's one of the things I've been considering. For instance, I could go to AutoZone/Discount Auto (sorry...AdvancedAuto) and get a rack with a lifetime warranty (honestly plan on keeping the car for that long), or I could get one from Toyota. Toyota only has a 1 year warranty, but could be made...
Yes! That. I plan on investing in a bunch for all sorts of lines in the car, as I'd rather not have to worry about abrasion and different rattles under the hood.
Yeah it shouldnt be difficult to mount it. There was a thread earlier about the type of mount you can use to mount those...rubber-lined C clamp with a bolt that holds it. We learned the name for it, but I cant remember.
Seeing as mine requires replacement, I'd love to hear what other people thought about this. Air conditioning compressors have come a long way since the 70s and 80s and are variable displacement now; no reason other parts like a steering rack couldnt as well.
Running an online store is still pretty time intensive and sometimes you make mistakes. You might get distracted when editing the store, or forget you put some info in and it ended up being wrong. I spend all sorts of time just going back and fixing stuff like that.
