ah, definitely check the master cylinder. my old teacher used to say,"give it the finger test". stick ya finger in the master cylinder, if you get black stuff on you-its time for a rebuild. or buy it rebuilt.
in a case like this, i'd check the compression to see if the cams are opening the valves properly and the rings aren't severely worn.
spark + fuel + compression = running...well sort of...
when i had my 86 i kept popping seal after seal just like that. it makes it easier if you buy the oil dye and use a black light. one thing is definite, you'll be able to do the front seals practically blindfolded.
lol...i didnt know black was rare. well, drove it last night and this morning and got hot. the bhg really needs to get done~which is happening later this week. the overall drive is very freakin nice. here are pics, they're a bit fuzzy my camera phone isnt the greatest. ~ the cars also...
well, im still working on my supra  as it is broken down. this guy has a headache with this car and just couldnt pass up for 100$. 1990 cressida, runs for a while before blowing smoke. new battery, radiator and a whole bunch of other stuff.

shes is a stick, but i've done the push start thing on another car. i ended up with the same results as a problem. i'm going to check the wiring starting from the terminals. i probably have a short somewhere.
