multiple spark discharge (more than once per combustion cycle) at low rpm. can give better idle. releases higher voltage, single charges at higher rpm I believe...but could be wrong. In theory it would improve lower end torque, response and efficiency by burning all the gas in the combustion...
on cars with carbeurators...that is, with no electronic limiting through the computer you can. 7M's ECUs have rev limiters built into their programming, and an external ignition modifier like your MSD cannot remove that.
ontop of that, there should be no need to increase the stock rev limit...

aftermarket camshafts haver longer duration and more lift than stock camshafts. Improving volumetric efficiency by keeping valves open longer and opening them more.....which means more power noticable in higher rpms.
i've been running mobil 1 ATF in my power steering for about 40,000km now with good results. I purchased it from Canadian tire. I had pump starvation issues along with some noise. I cleaned and flushed the reservoir and flushed the system with the new ATF. It quieted any pump noise I did have. I...
nope it'll be fine.
disconnect the battery just because you'll be moving wiring around. take the intake manifold off and associated hoses, labelling if you don't feel comfortable. take the clips off and pull those bitches out.
new o-rings coated with a bit of vaseline is a good call when...
figures, IJ's done it before. who woulda thought?
balancing is a must if you're doing any changes to a crankshaft. any machine shop should know this and consider it part of your lightening. if they don't think it's necessary....they may not be the greatest shop for you.
consider these if...
before just trying to get the "loudest" consider that for that sounds to be created, kinetic energy from the air bypassing must be converted to sound energy. It's not a direct relationship, but basically...the louder your blow off valve or bypass valve gets, the closer you get to having a...
thanks guys.
NewWest: thanks for hte compliments. I definatley will be sending my injectors out to be cleaned. New oil pump is a must aswell, I plan on getting a genuine toyota unit, unshimmed.
dudeman - thanks for the suggestion. main priority is getting it in and running. I'll see how...
thanks for the suggestion.
I've driven a couple cars with lightweight flywheels and wasn't a huge fan, but it had an upgraded pressure plate aswell. I like the driveability of the stock system. I don't trust any ebay flywheels so fidanza is the choice, and that's a large amount of money for...
it sure is. dry, but good. I can only handle 25 pages at a time. it's like reading a textbook except more fun. It's sitting on my coffee table right now :)
doing some work on the exhaust side as I post this...just giving the compressor a rest. I am particularly proud of this. I think I am getting pretty good at this!....wish I had a flow bench to balance them all.
I'll hit them with some polishing compound once they are all done. pretty shiny...
thanks! I haven't gotten into the wiring yet as I just received my 84 and 87 EWD booklets from toyota to confirm the details. if interested, here's some wiring information I have collected online. Cartman's (link below) should be exactly the same as mine but I can't confirm it until I examine...
