Well it totally depends on how well the prep work was done on the head/block surfaces prior to putting the gasket it. It also depends on the torque of the head bolts.
I remember you told me Metro Toyota replaced the head gasket, so ARP hardware was not used, although it should be torqued to...
Also check for exhaust leaks around the exhaust manifold connections to the block and turbo, and also the EGR.
I had an exhaust leak on my manifold and I could only boost to 4 PSI (couldn't hear it over DDP and straightpipe though).
If I had mine hooked up I'd set it for a minute or two to let the coolant in the turbo stop boiling.
Assuming I drive like a lunatic everywhere, ofcourse.
Thats the impression I got.
Oh lord.
If performing mods like this is high on your priority list, a wideband (and perhaps some kind of a/f controller) should be at the very top. It is obvious you did not research your mods very well.
For your car's sake, take the lex afm out until you have...
I apologized in advance, but since he doesn't read posts why bother? JetJock has tried to help and it's not working out to well. If he doesn't listen to JetJock who WILL he listen to?
I normally do not make replies as such, for the reason you just stated, but it gets to the point where the...
I apologize in advance for the lack of constructive advice in my post. However it is still advice and I did keep it fairly civil.
I was tempted to post something along the lines of this earlier, but you definitely said it much better than I ever could have. These topics are much too...
Once you learn how to take the panel off its actually one of the easiest things to do in the car. Really. I think installing speakers might be harder.
Here's one for fun:
Try to install your turbo oil feed line into the block with your turbo already securely bolted to the exhaust...
Bad idea.
Sounds like you are prepared to waste your time. I had this happen to me and not only was my crank bent (you cant tell by looking), 2 of my rods were out of round.
In summation:
You're going to have to pull the motor.
take a hammer and smack the crank bolt a few times. Love taps. With a bit less love and a bit more tap.
Then get a phat piece of long pipe and stick it on your breaker bar.
I did it this way with a 2x4 jammed in between a counterweight and it worked nicely, although 2 of us were standing...
They caused him mental trauma and distress and fucked him in the head for the next 5 years, causing him to be unable to work.
He needs $4 Million to support himself during that time.
Oh and a new mirror.
Dude! Shitty. At least they found them. And at least they didn't pull what the kids in Sooke did (to my parents car).
Park too close to a party and not only do they tear off your mirror, they break wheels, bend antennas and jump on your roof.
But :( nontheless.
For removal I used a spark plug socket with a super strong hard drive magnet stuck inside of it. Keepers came out fast and easy, and stuck right to the magnet with no issues whatsoever.
For installation I paid my machine shop $5 to use their pneumatic machine to put them in.
My engine didn't cost more than the car, I'm only about $500 shy though. :evil2:
And I DID get a wicked deal on my forged pistons c/w new stock rods and new(ish) crank
