If they are those typical hose clamps with the worm gear, like you have for your intake and lots of other stuff, get new toyota clamps! If it takes a pair of pliers to squeeze the two tabs together to loosen it, they should be good!

So you found some of that gasket remover! Just spray that stuff on there, let it soak for a good 15 minutes (don't let it dry) then carefully use a single edged razor (gasket scraper) or something to carefully scrape away the remainder You're making great progress!

Woah... so this opens up a coolant passage! Kyle, does the hole go all the way through into the coolant passages? In the picture i thought it looked like the bottom was metal, not open. Is there a matching hole in the head? I might have to do this one... :)

Yeah, If you want to get heat away from the combustion chambers, iron conducts heat better than air, so i don't know why the hell someone would drill into the deck!!!!

The head is being decked, right? Be meticulous about cleaning off the gasket material off the block (but careful not to scratch it!), and be even more meticulous about ensuring it stays out of the engine! DONT FORGET AN OIL CHANGE!

He already did a Leakdown test... if you're losing 15% accross the board, that is a BHG! Even with a BHG, if it doesnt immediately eject all the coolant out, and your thermostat is good, as long as you fill up the water, your temp's could very well 'be ok' up until the BHG outpaces being able...

Thats a BHG right there, not sure why you needed any more testing or wondering! If you can do all that maintenance on your own, you can get a new set of head bolts, a new toyota head gasket (and other gaskets), and just do it yourself! Hopefully your block will be straight enough, do a good...
