Mandatory Actually, Screw the 500 Its new ARP hardware, 7-10 heat cycles I believe (good full heat cycles!), and then you will need to retorque! The new hardware will stretch and settle, and will probably be loosened, you definitely won't have even torque ratings anymore

The .020 has nothing to do with it, you want to take off the minimum amount needed to get a proper clearance between the piston, and cylinder walls. If you have to get new pistons, just get Wiseco forged pistons, from summit racing, for about $560 shipped :)
