And not sure if you've kept up on the Eagle rod's, but apparently they use weak ARP 2000 series bolts, and you should get some ARP L19 series, or better...
Sounds like you have a good plan!!
We feel your pain ::bhg::
Sounds like maybe you could use a aftermarket coolant temp sensor?
While you're at it, get A&N fittings from the block to the pump, lower the pickup a little bit (get a sump pan? :D )
Oil filter relocation, thermostatically...
So I nailed my technique with the spirolox, and take back my mean words about Wiseco! (for more than this reason.) I only scratched up a little bit of the first 2 pistons :D Not very badly though so it's ok lol. And I only launched one clip across the garage!
I started pretending to file the...
Hehe we all owe you indefinitely from the amount we've learned from your mistakes!!
I'd like to give BIG UPS to Wiseco & Summit racing, for having awesome customer service! Ordered the filer and some spirolox circlips yesterday, the circlips were backordered, but the filer was shipped out...
Spray guns are fun! I have a cheapo gun unfortunitely... but you can get pretty nice hvlp or lvlp's from harbor freight for cheap. My air compressor shouldn't have any problem keeping up, i plan to paint my car with it eventually!
Aah, good tip! that'll be much easier to measure, now that I don't have to push it down so far in the bore :) Tsrm calls for about 110mm iirc!
I'd say this thread pretty much covers everything needed for anyone in the future looking up ring end gap filing! Last time i searched there were no...
Ok that makes sense!
I've been squaring it in the bore using the bare wiseco (should i put on the oil rings? Would it be wise to use my old stock piston instead?) assembled on a rod, i made a tape mark to push it down as far as the tsrm recommends before I measure
JaV: It sounds a little...
Really? Hmmm can I get a confirmation on this from someone? *nudges IJ*
Thanks IJ, that's the one I'll buy!
Gotta order another set of circlips for my wiseco's, as I launched one across the garage lol, and summit carries them
JaV (are you ric?) You can buy it for less then I paid when I'm...
I went to Napa today and after talking to one of the machine shop guys and looking at the catalogue, he has the same cheap ring filers, that looked exactly like the two seen here:

You get what you pay for!
Aeromotive pressure regulators cost a good amount of money, and you should not trust your fuel system to a no-name, or lesser brand. A/N Fittings also cost more than it seems like they should, but do not skimp out when investing in your fuel system!
$250 is a great...
^ I think the concern is more with the speeds at which the piston / rods have to move to achieve the same RPM's as before. With a longer stroke, the assembly has to travel farther and faster for each stroke, so this will limit how high you can safely rev it
Aaah, so thats what you mean by 20/22? Fantastic :)
How could a beginner possibly know these things without a mentor like yourself?
I guess it's just one of those things you learn from trial and error!
What's the reason for it? Does the second ring expand more?
In all practicality, I'll be pushing like 550 now that I think about it abit more.
So I'll go with .021 or so then!! I'll think about it some more :)
Better to have abit of blowby at lower temps than risking having the ends butt!
Thanks for the invaluable insight IJ! Oh, not sure if i ever...
Really?! :aigo:
I got 1 in, but scratched up the coating surrounding that area :icon_mad:
Should I just go for toyota's top of the spec, and shoot for .017"? I think that sounds good to me, but what do I know? lol
[ninja edit] Uhmm for some reason I read IJ's post as a few thousandths...
