I move the shift lever out of 1st at around 25mph, and out of second around 70. The shift lag is an interesting thing. Takes a little more skill than you would think. The other option is use the ECT.

Same thing happened to my car. My mom was driving (I wasn't there), some old guy backed up into my car and just left. She was honking and yelling at him, but he didn't stop. We found him later and he paid up, but we thought it was a lost cause for a moment there.

Actually, the turbo should have a little less umph when you first mash the pedal at a stop, but once the turbo spools you won't care.

I would love to have some bright back up lights. With the tinted rear hatch it can be tough to see some of the darker colored things behind me. I like the idea. I vote not rice.

I think what they are talking about with the emergency brake thing is drifting. you can "drift" a FWD car by using the hand brake. That's all I can figure it could be.
