Have you friend with 51 supras take a picture of what he's talking about. If it indeed has some type of TC option on it, then it didn't come from the factory like that and was a dealer option. Jeff has spoken.

The composite HG will help seal a less than ideal mating surface between two dissimilar metals, but it is not guaranteed as you don't know how far out of spec the block is without checking.
You could fab up one similar to IJ.'s design and only have to worry about the battery being moved. Just make sure you retain all the electronics that go on the stock manifold, mounted in a position where they are still functional (vacuum and water lines here), and you should be good to go...
It is a little sad that some people have problems getting good times with big power.
