no deff not that committed, but i have owned about 25 diff toyotas between trucks and cars just figured id give some of you guys something to talk about I'm sure when I'm 60 ill regret it but fuck a tattoo is the least of the things Im going to regret from my past lmao
the valves in this head don't have 7M on them though just wondering if theres and distinctive marks on aftermarket valves or the way they are shaped that would let me know what type they are
i noticed when i had my head off my car that my valves don't have 7M stamped on them? my question is did all 7m motors have the 7M stamped on the valves? and if not how do i know what valves i have in my motor??
do you know there previous owner personally?? or is he some joe you met on craigslist? PO of my car said this and that and bla bla bla and i could tell just by looking at him that he was a hack, but didn't really care cuz i had every intention on rebuilding the motor cuz the body and...
but if the case is it not sealing and getting that blow-by effect, why aint that piston oil covered?
so i guess the real question is what cylinder is this happening too?
just start checking everything and seeing if everything is in spec check your valves and seats too could be a intake...
yeah that was first on my list before i resurfaced it, id hate to have seats drop or worse (which i may say iv never seen before, especially on some of the yota motors iv abused and tried to kill) i believe the pitting was caused by a dry-rotted o-ring in very poor condition causing that one...
oh i fully understand, have been hunting down a donor head for my project, and a few machine shops have already looked at it (very reputable ones in the area) and said it should be fine as long as the motor don't continue to run in these conditions.
cylinder i wouldn't doubt is egg shaped but I'm trying to tie in how that would lead to blow by, and why aint there oil build up on top of the piston (scratching head)??
also is is there still that lip of carbon build up on the very tip of the cylinder wall?
dude never trust a PO's word iv seen cross marks in cylinder walls that had 25, 40 even 50k miles on it mic the cylinder walls and get new rings rings are cheap anyways why risk using old ones ya know
whats the issue with the 7m's cooling system?? is it the fact that the HG covers part of the water jackets on one side of the head or is it just weak water pumps or bad design???
how old are those pistons and rings?? and did you install them yourself?? were the rings gapped to spec just throwing out ideas I'm a lil confused but got a few ideas what could be causing it
i run engine ice in my tacoma 5vz-fe i know its $$$$ stuff but it works great in my dirt bikes and quads so why not in a car spos to keep temps down by 20 degrees on average, don't have a temp gauge on my truck, only oem gauge but on my quad and bikes they run a lot cooler and it don't gum up...
was told its from running too lean combined with a BHG, only no.4 cylinder looks this way, also the water jacket by the exhaust valves is a lil pitted, but all the other jackets are fine. heads only out about .009 and cams turn very easy, thinking of resurfacing the head and putting a new...
