by "design" the charcoal canister is only used to provide the gas tank a way to vent but to keep gas vapors to a minimal hence the charcoal whether or not it keeps the gas tank at a certain pressure I'm uncertain but i highly doubt it iv driven a few of my other cars without the canister...
why keep it?? its not my daily driver,no emissions,no inspections, and cops don't care bout anything in this city, iv seen all out tube chassis rock buggies downtown at a red light next to a cop and not even the slightest hint of a red or blue i use to live in mass and nh for years...
i hate shims they will nickle and dime your wallet to hell iv seen guys sand them to the right spec to save a few bucks and never heard any bad outta doing it,you just gotta sand them uniformly! would i do it? damn right lmao did it on many streetbike, dirtbike and quad engines double...
yeah i did a lil reading on the egr delete for a few hours and i think ill be keeping the ugly eye sore of very usefulness especially seeing ill be running higher compression in my car. lmao who wants to buy some egr block off plates :-)
thats all great if your running a completely stock set up but what if your tuned or have a standalone and a a/f meter so you can monitor all this just saying most people want to remove the egr to clean up their engine bay and happen to live places where emissions are not checked id just...
well ill let you know in about a week when my motor is all back together but from the way i see it,if anything it stops the no. 6 cylinder from running hot due to deleting the egr cooler
johnstown is a haul plus id need to clean up a lot of crap on the car before he'd let me put it on a dyno, but it is always an option. id still really want to keep the compression down but that would mean running two composite gaskets for now until i can get to a place where i can actually...
so with running a new composite gasket and .040 removed from the head ill be around 9.1:1 think I'm all set if i run and make two composite HG work ill be at 8.2:1 hmmmmmm
you have any issues getting the timing right? or you running adjustable cam gears just seems that taking off 1mm of material off the head will get tolerances pretty close does anyone have a clue what my CR would be after that??? I'm hoping still under 9
i have sitting in front of me a afc neo zetronics wideband kit data logger 255 pump afpr kit for fuel but 1mm diff is a lot thats going to put me up to almost 9:1 i tried using the calculator last night but couldn't get the values right with my figures i need a HG the size around...
before you guys stop reading i know this has been sorta covered before and its in the wrong section but i tried posting in the head gasket thickness sticky and no response
my head has already been shaved .020 and will probably need another .015 to get smooth thats almost 1mm that i have to...
ok bare with me here, my heads already been shaved .020 from PO and is probably going to need another .015-.020 taken off thats almost 1mm of thickness problem is i wanna run a composite head gasket because pulling the block isn't an option right now, but with 1mm of thickness to make up due...
